Organization Sets the Standard for U.S. Drycleaners

Palm Beach Gardens, Fl: If a consumer pours out lots of money on a luxury vehicle, chances are that he or she wouldn’t be satisfied taking their expensive car to the neighborhood mechanic for service. So by the same rationale, why would people send their couture apparel to just any cleaner? Who would trust an Armani, Prada, Chanel or Valentino to the corner cleaner?

Enter America’s Best Cleaners, which is a national organization that strives to locate and recognize the best dry-cleaning establishments in major metropolitan areas throughout the United States. There may only be one cleaning establishment in a city awarded the privilege of being America’s Best Cleaners. When customers walk into an America’s Best Cleaners affiliate, they are assured that this is the “best of the best” in their particular location.

America’s Best Cleaners are the top-performers in the areas of fabric and stain identification, garment construction, and color fastness. They know how to properly clean and finish garments, no matter what type of fabric, stains, dyes, construction, or embellishments they may have. After being properly cleaned, every garment is expertly finished and pressed, thoroughly inspected, and carefully packaged to ensure a safe return to its client’s closet.

America’s Best Cleaners

Drycleaners selected by America’s Best Cleaners are subject to a rigorous screening process during which they must distinguish themselves in every facet of the dry-cleaning business. In addition to having all the essential attributes of excellent quality and service, a designated America’s Best Cleaner must be recommended by a majority of recognized fashion designers and upscale retailers in the dry cleaner’s location.

Before a dry cleaner can become a member of the exclusive America’s Best Cleaners group, it has to meet a number of specific criteria. An America’s Best Cleaner must be able to clean and preserve wedding gowns, offer fine apparel storage, be a full-service cleaner, offer hand-finished service, provide pick-up and delivery services to home and/or office, have the capacity to ship anywhere, and offer emergency service.

America’s Best Cleaners also have to attend a series of informative workshops, and subject themselves to inspections by “undercover shoppers” to ensure that the dry cleaner is maintaining the standards enforced by the advisory board.

There are currently 25 accredited America’s Best Cleaners in the country located in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Boston. There’s also an international affiliate in Paris. In the immediate future, America’s Best Cleaners hopes to have at least 50 to 60 major Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSA) represented.
