National Dry Cleaning Organization Holds

Affiliate Meeting in Los Angeles

Century City, CA: America’s Best Cleaners, a national organization that strives to locate and recognize the best dry-cleaning establishments in major metropolitan areas throughout the United States, held a national meeting of its 25 affiliates to discuss new cleaning techniques, including eco-friendly agents, on April 7 at the Westin Century Plaza Hotel.

The meeting also featured an appearance by LA-based couture fashion designer Kevan Hall, who discussed a variety of topics, such as dry cleaning expectations from a designer’s perspective, new fabrics that require innovative dry cleaning techniques, and even how designers and dry cleaners should join forces to enhance the cleaning and care of high-end apparel.

In addition, organization affiliates were offered a hands-on and guided tour of America’s Best Cleaners’ Los Angeles affiliate: Brentwood Royal Dry Cleaners. There, guests were walked through various dry cleaning processes, and were also provided an up close and personal look at the latest high-tech machinery that is used at the location.

Members of America’s Best Cleaners are subject to a rigorous screening process during which it distinguished itself in every facet of the dry-cleaning business. In addition to having all the essential attributes of excellent quality and service, a designated America’s Best Cleaner must be recommended by a majority of recognized fashion designers and upscale retailers in the dry cleaner’s location.

Before a dry cleaner can become a member of the exclusive America’s Best Cleaners group, it has to meet a number of specific criteria. An America’s Best Cleaner must be able to clean and preserve wedding gowns, offer fine apparel storage, be a full-service cleaner, offer hand-finished service, provide pick-up and delivery services to home and/or office, have the capacity to ship anywhere, and offer emergency service.

There are currently 25 accredited America’s Best Cleaners in the country located in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Boston. There’s also an international affiliate in Paris. In the immediate future, America’s Best Cleaners hopes to have at least 50 to 60 major Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSA) represented.
